How This Page Came to Exist

This page exists for one very simple reason: I was on holiday from work… and I got bored.

Not relaxing-on-a-beach bored. More the kind of boredom that creeps in when the weather’s rubbish, the days blur together, and you’ve already reorganised the same folders on your computer three times. With nowhere to be and too much time to think, I found myself doing what I usually do when I need a distraction — messing about with photos and ideas.

I’ve always meant to put my images in one place. Somewhere simple. Somewhere they could just exist without algorithms, deadlines, or social media noise. No pressure to perform, no captions crafted for likes — just photos, as they are.

So during a quiet spell of time off, this site slowly came together. No grand plan. No big announcement. Just a few evenings of tinkering, uploading, adjusting, and thinking “that’ll do for now.”

Some of the photos here are recent. Some are older. Some probably shouldn’t have sat on a hard drive for as long as they did. But they all have one thing in common: they were taken because I felt like taking them.

This page isn’t about perfection. It’s not a portfolio in the traditional sense. It’s more of a home for moments I’ve noticed, places I’ve stood still in, and times where pressing the shutter felt right.

Created out of boredom, maybe — but kept because it feels right.
